For this reason many people prefer to work from the bottom up. However, in doing this you are just as likely to miss out on the new combinations that often fall into place when middle or bottom boulders are removed. This strategy assumes that it is best to start from the top and work down in order to avoid losing top combos. If clicking randomly from the middle or bottom of the board, one can often ruin good combos on the top of the screen. You should also try and use multiple strategies in the one game as different strategies can apply to different situations. Different people prefer different strategies so it is suggested that you try them out and select the one that works best for you. Here are a few strategies to help you play the game. Shuffle Power-Up is active and can be used. Undo Power-Up is active BUT cannot be used until a set of blocks without a power-up is destroyed. (You can get one Scamander Power-Up on each side, for a total of two power-ups allowed in this mode.) Double Trouble Extreme Mode: Same as Extreme Mode, except you are playing two games at the same time.You are given a maximum of two power-ups per level. You keep playing until you no longer have enough points to proceed in both games. Double Trouble Mode: Same as Classic Mode, except you are playing two games at the same time.If you clear your board, you are given 25 bonus points. There is only one power-up: the Scamander Power-Up. Boulders continuously appear from the bottom of the screen. Extreme Mode: You also play for points, but instead of double-clicking on a set of boulders, you click once.Classic Mode: You play for points level by level by double-clicking on sets of boulders, with a certain amount of points required each level to continue. It's essentially a practice run of Destruct-O-Match. If aiming for the avatar or a high score, Classic Mode is recommended. Most of the time those blocks are moving much too fast for you to worry about Scamander strategy, simply get them when you can and forget them when you can not. Keeps one column of boulders from rising (Other columns will rise only in Extreme Mode) Overall this isn't an extremely useful tile, but it can help if you make a big mistake such as breaking up a huge combo. Undoes last move made only if last move did not involve Power-Up Block When you are close to running out of moves and haven't reached your goal, Glubgar can reshuffle the tiles and hopefully give you a couple of extra moves. Use this Block to get yourself out of sticky situations. Glubgar flies across the screen and shuffles all boulders, changing their colours randomly (Boulder structure remains the same) The Wildcard boulder is also very helpful in linking two large combos and can be used with the same strategy as the Morph Boulder. Represents a block of any colour (Does not require adjacent boulder of same colour) Aim for the biggest combo possible to get the maximum score. The Morph Boulder can be helpful in linking two large combos. This is an extremely helpful power-up! A great strategy is to try and build up the biggest combo you can by not removing any boulders of this power-up's colour until the very end.īoulder changes colours randomly can become any colour available on the level Multiplies score of set of boulders by 3 - usually seen at Level 3+ This way you will get the maximum points. Therefore, it is suggested that you use this boulder in a large combo that contains most of that colour, or when the majority of the same coloured boulders have been removed. Though this seems like a great power-up, it only awards you points for the original click, not the extra boulders of the same colour, i.e you could remove 50 boulder but only get points for the 5 you clicked on. It can help you score those last few points or score you massive bonus points by destroying the final, stray boulders.ĭestroys all boulders of the same colour.
